Why Is This Important?

People who do not have a primary medical care provider may not get the timely health care that they need to prevent illnesses and may also suffer unnecessarily from avoidable complications from those illnesses.

Definition

The percentage of New Mexicans with and without a primary medical provider. Question text: Do you have one or more persons you think of as your personal doctor or health care provider?

How the Measure is Calculated

Numerator:Number of persons in the survey sample who responded, "no" to the question: "Do you have one or more persons you think of as your personal doctor or health care provider?".
Denominator:Total number of persons in the survey sample who responded to the question.
