The New Mexico Trauma Registry contains information on injury hospital
and emergency department visits. The information is abstracted by staff
in all participating New Mexico hospitals, including designated and
developing trauma centers and hospitals that participate voluntarily.
Patients in the New Mexico Trauma Registry are those who were admitted
to a participating hospital with a primary diagnosis of injury. This also
includes patients with injury diagnoses who were transferred to the hospital
via EMS, patients who were discharged from the hospital emergency department
with orders of inpatient admission after a stay of 24 hours, and injury deaths
in transit to or in a participating hospital or emergency department.
